If you are a small to medium business, the advent of cloud has radically changed the landscape of how you provision IT services, even those that are traditionally considered internal to the company.
Gone are the days of on-prem data centers filled with racks of servers, or even a shelf of servers in an office closet. Today, for a fraction of the cost, you can spin up these services inside a so called ‘virtual private cloud’ or VPC. Your workers can then access these services via a VPN (virtual private network) from their laptops and workstations, giving them the freedom to work from anywhere.
Joylogics has expertise in setting up robust and secure VPC’s using AWS. And by leveraging open source solutions such as OpenVPN, can provide reliable, yet cost-effective ways to access cloud resources that are private to each customer.
As an example, one customer needed to provision a floating licensing server so that its knowledge workers can use an industry-specific software. Traditionally, such licensing server would be deployed on a physical server in the office location.
Joylogics team created a VPC in AWS, and spun up the floating licensing server within it. Now, the customers workforce can connect to the VPC via VPN clients, and use the industry-specific software from anywhere. Joylogics team has also fully automated the process of regularly backing up both the VPN server and the floating licensing server so as to ensure business continuity.
Here is a list of some of the cloud based IT services that Joylogics works with on regular basis:
- G-Suite

- Static Web Sites
- VPN (OpenVPN)
- Virtual Private Cloud (VPC)
